Antwerp Edging Stitch

This Antwerp Edging Stitch is often known as knot stitch edging.

This stitch is usually used to give a decorative edge to a hem.

The needle is passed through the hem width and round the bottom of the material but in front of the working thread.

The needle is then passed back down, between the edge of the material and the thread leading into the start of the stitch.

The needle is then looped round and passed forward through to the front through the loop made by the thread trailing from the needle.

Pull the tread firmly to tie the knot tightly.

The next stitch is now started in the same way. Antwerp Edging Stitch
